One year stats

Evans had his one year check-up today. His pediatrician said he is "perfect" for a twelve month old...physically and developmentally. We think he is pretty perfect too! :)

Weight: 19 lbs 13 oz (10th percentile)
Length: 30 1/2 inches (60th percentile)
Head circumference: 19 inches (90th percentile)

You wear mostly 12 month clothes but have some pants that are 6-9 months because you are so skinny! You wear a size 3 diaper and size 3 or 4 shoe. I buy 18 months PJs for you because I don't like them to be too tight!

Favorite things right now: bananas, pushing things around the room (trucks, books, chairs...anything!), splashing in the bath, laughing hysterically when told "no"

First Birthday Party!

We had Evans' first birthday party at Gibson Pond Park. It was a chilly day so we were thankful for the fireplace and enjoyed spending time with our families.

I loved his cakes!

Since we have an abundance of toys, we asked guests to bring a toy for Happy Wheels, an organization that we got to know of during Evans' time at the Children's Hospital. They deliver toys and books each week to the babies and children staying there.

Look who's turning one!

My mom made his sweet outfit (and matching bib above)!

This boy loves cake!

Now the cake has truly become a "smash" cake!

This tray is way more interesting than the cake!

Birthday lunch date!

Mom brought Evans (and Chick-fil-A) to school on his birthday so we could eat lunch together!

My name tag must have tasted good. :)

This boy LOVES a bag!

My sweet, sweet students!

Birthday at home

Birthday boy just waking up...
More interested in the balloons than presents!

Loved his birthday muffin...so much that he had two!

Opening presents after supper...I thought he would love this because he loves to tear paper, but he could have really cared less! :)

Time for cookie cake!

He really enjoyed pulling off the icing dots around the edge!

Yummy!

One year old

Dear Evans,
It is so hard for me to believe that you are already a year old. November 17, 2010 was the best day of my life, and I will be forever grateful that God chose me to be your mommy. You have been such an easy baby from the minute you were born. They had to wake you up in the hospital nursery so you could eat! Mimi told me I never really knew what it was like to have a newborn because you were such a good sleeper and rarely cried. You have had a few rough nights that resulted in late night rides in the car, but that was only when you were sick (what a time you had with your ears!). Although I miss snuggling with you and cherish every second that you will let me hold you, you are such a joy to watch right now. You entertain yourself so well...so much in fact that you can have an entire room of toys and still choose a plastic lid to play with! You are jabbering up a storm, but not really saying any words (sometimes it sounds like you do but I don't think you really know what you are saying!). You are ALL BOY...busy, busy, busy and into everything! Daddy installed cabinet locks this week to keep you out of them. :) I would not change one thing about you, though! I love you and thank God for you every day.
Love,
Mommy

Let the festivities begin!

We started celebrating Evans' birthday at the football game on Saturday. As you can see, he LOVED his cake!

Blowing out the candle!

Doesn't get much cuter than this...

Go Tigers!
