First trip to the zoo

We enjoyed the beautiful weather today and went with my friend Kelly and her little boy, Coleman, to Riverbanks Zoo. Evans slept through most of our visit but he did wake up for a little while towards the end! I hope the spring weather will come back soon so we can get out some more!

Evans visits The Creek!

I moved to a new school this year, RCE (we like to call it "The Creek"), and the building was not ready until this week so we were at our old school first semester. The new school is AMAZING and I am excited to go back to work in a brand new classroom! Today I took Evans to visit my class. He has already made a few trips to the Creek to help me unpack boxes! Here he is in his RCE spirit wear...one day he will be a Ranger!

I am so mad that I forgot to take a picture of Evans with my class, so here is Evans before he was born with my class--ha! :)
My principal and assistant principal...AKA "Grannie" and "Nannie"

Nancy and Evans
After school Evans and I made the rounds to let some excited girls hold him...some of these I taught last year and some I teach this year!

Mallory...this picture just melts my heart!

Kellyn...she is cracking up laughing!

Going for a stroller ride down the creek in the hallway!

Little Red Wagon Ride

We took Evans for a wagon ride this afternoon. This is the look he had on his face pretty much the entire time--I'm not sure he knew what to think! I think he enjoyed it though! :) I am surprised he did not fall asleep because usually any type of motion usually puts him to sleep immediately. We are looking forward to lots more wagon rides when it gets warmer!

Two months old

Evans, you are two months old today, and I cannot believe how fast the time has flown by! You are getting so big, and we love watching every new thing you do!
Right now...
-you are just starting to smile with a purpose--when someone smiles at you, when you see yourself in a mirror, when we make faces at you
-you try to mimic the faces we make at you and stick your tongue out if we stick ours out
-you can still wear some newborn clothes but can also wear some of your 3 months clothes
-you weighed 9 lbs 14 oz and were 22 in long at your 2 month check-up
-you have started cooing and it is so funny to watch your mouth work so hard to try to make a sound
-you still don't like taking a bath, but you don't get upset when I change your clothes or diaper anymore
-you have started to wake up really happy, just content to lay in your crib and look around
-you are sleeping 7-8 hours most nights (YAY!!!)
-we put you in your crib awake and you lay there sweetly and just look around and coo until you fall asleep
-you like to be held but you are pretty happy in your bouncy seat, swing, pack-in-play, or car seat if we need to get something done
-your personality is starting to show and we LOVE it!!!

Snow day!

We bundled Evans up to take a few quick pictures in the snow. I am looking forward to watching him play in the snow one day when he is a little bit older!

Ready for church!

We have taken Evans to church one time at our church and one time at my parents' church. This was his second trip to our church, but the first time to go to the AWE service. This is our contemporary service, and I was a little worried about how he would do with the loud music, but he loved it! He just looked around at all of the spotlights and smiled when we sang...it was precious!
I love how cute he looks in this outfit! Matt thinks the hat looks like a bonnet and is too girly, but I say it is just baby!

Growing too fast!

We put this outfit on Evans the other day and I think it may be the last time he can wear it! The shirt would barely snap and his feet were about to poke out of the duck's face at the bottom. I just started crying when I realized how big he looked in the outfit because I could remember how small he seemed in it the first time he wore it. Then I cried yesterday when I realized we were down to the last of the newborn diapers and there is no need to buy any more because he can probably wear size 1 diapers now. I don't know why I am so emotional about his...Matt thinks I am crazy! So, I am just cherishing every outfit he can still wear that is a newborn size...it makes me sad to think about packing it all up! I hated having to pack up his sweet little Christmas outfits that won't fit next year...but you know what that means--I will just have to buy more! Ha--just kidding! :)
